How to Apply for the 2012 Google Ambassador Program

First to apply for the Google Ambassadors program, keep in mind that Google is interested in students who can effectively tell organize awesome events with minimal resources... and if you're asking the benefit, I'll personally tell you that you'll probably feel awesome to develop a neo-personal relationship with Google not to mention that they will treat you like a star.

so, whatsup with the 2012 Student Ambassador's application?

First and foremost, you have three choices as follows.

1. To choose a Google Product, eg. Google Search and explain how the product or technology can beconme an integral part of life in Africa

2. To Describe a Google event you think would be a success on your campus and how you would go about organizing such an event. (You'll probably be better off writing this one if you participated in our events in UNN)

3. How you would use Google APps to improve communication and collaboration on campus and how you would implement this plan? (This is probably for the idea gurus. If you're good in developing ideas, you can go for this.)

Next after writing this in Microsoft Word, make sure you have a google account, and point your browser to docs.google.com.

Here, you can either choose to upload an already typed document or to create a new one.

After creating your document, go to the SHARE button on the top right corner of the page, change the access level from private to 'Anyone with the link'. You'll be automatically provided with a publicly accessible link. Copy this link as this is what you will be using in the field which says:

Place Google Document link here: *

If you have any other problems applying, feel free to contact any of the UNN Ambassadors.

Good Luck!!!

Google Powered Academics, 2011

The Google Powered Academics was a training event conducted by the Google Student Ambassadors at Princess Alexandra Auditorium, UNN. The event heralded more than 800 students who were trained on the use of Google Documents, Forms, Search, Chrome, Blogger & Adsense. The event was conducted successfully with 14 hardworking facilitators who helped in campaigns, organization, and publicity as well as in maintaining order during and after the event. Prizes like Google T-shirts, Pens, Bags, etc.. (donated to us by Google) were given out to students or teams who answered questions correctly during the events. The event was really a great success and has contributed to the e-literacy of students in UNN. Thanks to Google!

Here are some video highlights of the event:
